The Calgary Catholic School District’s Off-Campus Education programs are designed to help all students recognize their special gifts, talents and interests, and to put education into a meaningful framework. Our programs play a vital role in assisting students’ transition into the workforce and post-secondary education through their participation in out-of-class study while gaining their high school diploma.
We provide a variety of Off-Campus opportunities for students, including:
Work Experience is available to high school students who are already working or volunteering and want to earn credits towards their high school diploma.
These programs are designed for high school students who are interested in specific career areas and would like to work towards post-secondary and/or workplace certification while still attending high school.
These programs are designed for high school students who are interested in a skilled trade and would like to work with a journeyman to explore the trade and earn both workplace certifications and high school credits.
Green Certificate is an apprenticeship-style program designed for young people interested in the agricultural industry who would like to learn on the job, under the direction of experienced farm personnel, earn high school credits and obtain certification from Alberta Agriculture and Forestry.
Career Discovery Program
This two-week long summer program provides Grade 10 and 11 high school students the opportunity to explore a particular career field, be mentored by an adult in a workplace environment and earn high school credits.
Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP)
The RAP program is designed for high school students who want to begin training in a trade of their choice, work towards becoming an indentured apprentice and earn credits toward their high school diploma.
